23 Jumpin

23 Jumpin is a cosy little cafe located at Tai Seng's industrial area, namely The Commerze Building at Irving Place. It's just a 3 minutes walk from Tai Seng MRT station via Exit A. Once you've exited the train station, turn left and then turn right, follow the road in and you'll see The Commerze Building on your right. Try spotting a scooter and that's how you know you're at the right place! If you're driving, you can park along the road or if there's no parking, you can park in the building itself (but at a higher rate).

Generally, the food here is affordable and although it's a nett priced (YAY, no GST and service charge!) cafe, they will still serve the food to you and clear the plates when you're done. If you intend to drop by during peak periods (e.g. around lunchtime) with a group of 4 or more, it would be better to call and make reservations beforehand, to avoid disappointment, as it can get crowded with not much seats.

Take note that orders are to be made at the counter, where you'll have to settle the bill after. Oh, and help yourself to the lemon infused water too! It's a minimalistic cafe with not much decorations, but that's what I like about this place: clean and simple! It can be a great secret hideout too during non-peak hours.

Let me introduce to you their signatures, namely the Mushroom Pizza Waffle (S$14), Honey Paprika Wings (S$8) and Truffle Infused Creamy Mushroom Pasta (S$15).

23 Jumpin is proud to be the home of the Mushroom Pizza Waffle, which is a combination of waffle with pizza toppings. This is the best combination ever, and, damn, did they brought the waffle game to the next level! This is a must-try for all pizza and/or waffle lovers out there! If you're expecting a crispy waffle, you're going to be disappointed... BUT don't let that hold you back. Go on and take one bite, you'll realise that it matches perfectly with the melted cheese and mushroom toppings!

Honey Paprika Wings are single boned mid-joint wings that's drizzled with honey, topped with paprika and parsley flakes. It is savory, sweet and with a hint of spiciness that hits all the right spots.

P.S. Some people say that these are even better than Lola's!

To be honest, I don't really like the Truffle Infused Creamy Mushroom Pasta. Perhaps it's because of the strong truffle aroma that I couldn't take. Otherwise, it's pretty good. The spaghetti was springy and the mushrooms complimented the rich and creamy mushroom sauce.

I, personally, like their Creamy Mushroom & Bacon Pasta (S$12) and Authentic Thai Iced Milk Tea (S$5).

The Creamy Mushroom & Bacon Pasta is a full-bodied dish that's made out of high quality white button mushrooms, bacon, and then topped off with grated parmesan cheese all over. The pasta is of the right consistency, with not too overwhelming cheesy and creamy goodness, I must say that the entire dish held together really well!

I don't know if it's really authentic or not, but their Authentic Thai Iced Milk Tea is definitely worth a try! If you have been to Bangkok, you would know that it's as sweet and milky as it is, there. This is perfect because it reminds me of Bangkok, but without the bustling streets, alluring street foods and the average 20baht.
